Who am I? Well...
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
HA! I wish! The truth is I am a graphic designer. I'm a recent transplant to the Pacific Northwest and loving life in Seattle. Despite my affinity for snow and tall tall mountains, I can't seem to ignore the call of the west coast. Although I do my best to claim "Colorado native," I hail from the mythical land of Candy-cornia (aka. California). Why Seattle you ask? Simple, education. I'm here to earn a Master of Science in Human Centered Design and Engineering at the University of Washington. My prior degree is from Colorado State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in graphic design. My first big boy job out of undergrad was working for a small municipality just east of Denver, called Bennett. Beginning as their Media Specialist, I helped bring them out of the dark ages of WordArt, Comic Sans, and Publisher. I will say the hard work paid off and I found myself running all of the town's marketing efforts and then some. The greatest perk of working with a small staff was the need for everyone to be interdisciplinary. In addition to design, marketing, managing the Town's website and social media channels, and developing a mobile app, I had the chance to work in economic development, plan community meetings, and spearhead development of a GIS program for the town. Luckily, I spent most of my formative years in the tiny high country town of Grand Lake. My family moved back to Cali, but I promised myself I would return to Colorado. After meandering my way through many different majors, I consider myself to be a certified educational vagabond. Engineering? Too literal. Interpretive dance? Could have been fun. But graphic design? Heck yes - I can still be creative while getting my nerd on. I have a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Colorado State University in Graphic Design. My only criticism...my graphic design professors refused to believe that web design was relevant in any way. They were trapped in an era before technology. That being said, I grabbed the bull by the cajones and decided to be a "home-brewed" web designer. I threw caution to the wind and set out on an epic quest of self enlightenment (and I've got the library fines to prove it).
I've been a nerd since before it was cool. I enjoy video games, Legos (the fancy ones), maxing out tabs in Google Chrome, driving my girlfriend crazy with my ever-expanding useless knowledge, and wandering the globe via Google Street View. I'm a hopeless romantic when it comes to my Corrado (if you know what that is, we can be friends).

Having a sense of humor is the key to life. You can tell a lot about a person from the things that make them laugh, or...not. Here are some things that make me chuckle. If you find them funny, chances are we'll get along fine.
